Amiga WWW Browser advice

S

ome Amiga Browsers aren't up to the task of displaying sites as they were intended (including ours). However, there's two browsers that are particularly true to form. One is the commercial browser IBrowse from Hi-Soft Systems and the other is Vaporsoft's Voyager browser.

IBrowse users: No we aren't using huge fonts. :-) Ensure you reduce the font sizes in IBrowse. For some reason IBrowse is distributed with default font sizes twice the generally accepted sizes. Copy the font sizes from Voyager as a guide.

Note: Both Browsers require MUI for their complex GUI Interface. If this is a problem for you, it's possible you fall into one of the three following categories.
  1. You are running an 512K floppy based 7Mhz 68000 based machine.
  2. You have falsely believed the torrents of irrational Anti-MUI garbage as found in Usenet.
  3. It's true. MUI is Evil and absolutely everything that goes wrong on your system is MUI's fault.

Of course, you may also just not enjoy MUI's method of operation. That's fine too, it's your choice after all but please don't force your opinions on others that don't agree. The Amiga market doesn't need that.

This has been a public service announcement from CU Amiga Magazine. :-)
