EDITORIAL
And finally on June 21 VIScorp's takeover of Amiga Technologies was confirmed
by Petro Tyschtshenko. This ended nearly two months of speculation since Escom
and the Chicago based Internet developement company first announced that a deal
was in the offing back at the beginning of April, Just before World Of Amiga.
This speculation centred around VIScorp's intententions for the Amiga as a
computer and their commitment to develop the hardware and system enhancements
needed to bring it in touch the next generation. But even before the
announcement was made official, VIScorp had released a statement stating that
they intended to do just that (see news), they also made legal noises about
their copyrights and just how seriously they intended to look after them. If
during the course of reading the magazine, and my Point Of View in particular,
you come accross something about VIScorp NOT making an announcement it's purely
because of the time constraints of writing this magazine. Some pages go to press
sooner than others, and this announcement arrived very late in the day. I also
had a very interesting chat with John Smith, now of PIOS (again, see news).
Their development, should they succeed, are promising.
