Usage
Please remember that this player if mostly for high-end Amigas. As the SID-chip is hard to emulate you need atleast a fast 68040 to have any real use for it.
 
MainWindow
Well, this should be quite easy for anyone who has ever used a Mod-player etc. If any of this is unclear...
 
The Control-buttons are : Play, Fast forward, Stop and Pause. (Fast rewind is not in usage yet...)
 
The Disk Options buttons are : Eject(choose tune(s)) and previous,next tune.
 
Preference Window
In the preferences window you can make your own settings. And the different settings are as following
 
Emulate Filters
Enable this option if you wan't to emulate the SID-Filters.
 
Measured Volume
Enable this option for more exact volume in SID-emulation. Removing this gives no faster emulation, so have it enabled.
 
MOS8580
Enable this option to emulate new SID-chip.(Not recomended)
 
Safe Play
Enable this option on slower machines. Also if you get strange hangups when music plays. This option keeps the GUI priority above the player's.
 
Priority
Choose priority of player.
 
BufferSize
Choose player buffersize. Small buffers gives fast response, but can cause more "skipping" when playing.
 
FFWD-Speed
Choose how fast you wan't your "Fast Forward".
 
AHI-Mode
Choose your sound output device and mixing frequency.
 
Below a list of frequency settings for different CPU:s.
  • 68060 / 50 MHz : 4000-48000 Hz (22050 to be really usable)
  • 68040 / 40 MHz : 4000-44100 Hz (22050 to be really usable)
  • 68030 / 50 MHz : 4000-10000 Hz

Start-Path
Choose path to start looking for SID's in.
 
Play-Time
Choose for how long a SID should be played before next SID will be loaded. Choose "0" to disable. It only works if more than one file is selected.
 
Playlist Window
This is one of the really nice things about my SID-player. It has a great Playlist with some good functions.
 
The "Add", "Remove" and "Remove All" buttons lets you alter the files in the Playlist.
 
The "Load" and "Save" buttons are for saving and loading Playlist's.
 
The "Info" buttons gives extra info on the selected song in the Playlist.
 
The "Sort" button does what it says, it sorts the playlist in alpha order.
 
And now for the really nice part of the Playlist. You can choose what tune in the song to play by double-clicking on the "SongNumber" field. But that's not all... No, you can even have different PlayTime for every Song =) Just double-click on the "PlayTime" field.
 
To start a tune from the PlayList, just double-click on the filename in the listview.
 
Mixer Window

Not much to say really.To change the filters, use the filter sliders. The relatime filter editor is a bit cpu-intensive, so use it with care.With the volume sliders you can change the volume settings for the separate channels.
 
Hotkeys

Main window

l - Load.
b - Previous (back).
n - Next.
p - Play.
f - Fast Forward.
s - Stop.
u - Pause.

Use F1 to toggle between Main window and Playlist window.
