I listened to the "On Nites Like This" CD for the first time on Christmas day 1996 and I was entranced. Upon reading the credits, I assumed that Soraya had recordings in Spanish. And, being fluent in both languages, I set off to find so mething in Spanish by Soraya. Happily, "En Esta Noche" was added to my CD collection by Valentine's Day 1997. I was so pleased to find a Web-Page about Soraya. She is incredible. I saw her in concert, opening for Natalie Merchant in Wilkes-Barre, PA about two years ago. From that point on I've been a huge fan. Occassionaly, the radio stations around here play her music. But, she is virtually unknown. I also am a very big fan of Soraya. I live in Warwick, Rhode Island in the United States. I went to see Natalie Merchant perform at a small local club and i had no idea who was opening for her. Soraya? Who is Soraya i was thinking? Well i found out very quickly as i was mesmerized by her beautiful music as well as her physical beauty. I went to see my fevorite musical performer that night and then came out with another. Around here it was impossible to find her first album, however when i did it never left my hand until i bought it. Now a long awaited second album has arrived and i want to know more about it. I first heard Soraya singing Quedate on Channel 41 (Unavision) last July (1997), but only the last 2 1/2 minutes, which I got on tape. I loved the song right away, but didn't know who she was. Two weeks later, while in a department store, I heard the same song in English by, what sounded like the same singer. Overall, it took me three months to find out who it was, and have since purchased tapes & CD's of On Nights Like This and En Esta Noche. It was certainly worth my perseverence. A couple of weeks ago I was elated to find Torre De Marfil, which is as good as her first. I found the Soraya Fan Club address on the insert, which I wrote to, but haven't heard from, as yet. I also found the Poly- gram website. I am a deffinite fan and would like to know more about her. I'm having a great time with this, which, believe it or not, is my first time on the internet.
