InvertCase InvertCase by Rob Lyman A commodity to make Amiga keyboards work more like IBM keyboards. DESCRIPTION: When you hold down a Shift key while the CapsLock is turned on and press a letter on an IBM keyboard, you get a lower case letter--very useful if you are typing a string of upper case characters and need to put in a single lower case one. An Amiga you get an upper case character in the same situation. As much as I like the Amiga, I prefer the IBM method of operation for the keyboard. This commodity does just that. When active, it watches the input stream. Any alphabet characters (including foreign characters, e.g. æ, ò) coming through that have both CapsLock and a Shift key active are converted to lower case. Numbers (0-9) and symbol characters (#,>,\) are unaffected. InvertCase uses the keymap.library, and is aware of foreign keyboards (e.g. German, French, Dvorak). REQUIREMENTS: InvertCase needs Workbench 2.1+ to operate. USAGE: It's simple. from Workbench: Double click InvertCase's icon to start it; double click again to turn it off. Place the icon in the WBStartup drawer to make it active everytime you start the computer. You can also use Exchange or a similar controller commodity to make it temporarily inactive. InvertCase supports the CX_PRIORITY tooltype; this may be used to control its priority on the Commodity chain. See the Workbench User's Manual for details. from Shell: Make sure you are in the same directory as the program, and type "InvertCase". (If you placed it in the WBStartup drawer, you can start it from any directory). To shut it down, press Ctrl+C.
