Short: PCB vectorial electronics program Author: roland.florac@fnac.net (Roland Florac) Uploader: roland.florac@fnac.net (Roland Florac) Version: 1.01 Type: misc/sci Requires: 0S 3.0+, 68020+, gtlayout.library Distribution: Aminet THIS SOFTWARE IS GIFTWARE/EMAILWARE, NOT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN ! YOU CAN'T USE THIS PROGRAM TO PRODUCE ANYTHING IN A COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENT WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE AUTHOR. Version 1.01 13 Mai 2000 Better "Edition/Select net" menu algorythm (very faster). ALT+Leftbutton click bug correction. Menu "Edition/Fix on grid" corrected for groups. New "Requesters" prefs entry (Follow mouse or center on windows). Hidden objects unselected. Possibility to "cut" a wire (Click on a point while pressing the right Amiga key). Relative coordinates (Prefs menu). Better requesters placement on reversed view. Many new clips from freenet Kunde . Italian catalog (by Virginio Savani ). Note : many users had some problems with the gtlayout.library when using the prefs requester. Please tell me if it works now (with your library number) or not. Requirements: ------------- Hardware - MC68020 or higher - AGA chipset or GFX card recommended for high screen resolutions. Software - AmigaOS v39 (system 3.0) or higher - gtlayout.library. This library is not supplied in the package. Installation: ------------- Just drag the AmiPCB drawer where you want... Delete the catalogs drawer if you don't want to write a new catalog or if you don't need the french one (the lonely one that is present for the moment). If you don't have the gtlayout.library, got it on Aminet. You will find two or three examples in the Boards drawer, the AmiCAD drawer contains some sheets. Documentation: -------------- No doc at all for the moment. I'll write one only if I get some good feedbacks for the program (I accept all your donations: CD, PowerPC cards, Picasso card, laser printer...) or anything else that can be usefull (money included) ! Limitations, technical notes: ----------------------------- The program has been successfully tested under OS3.5 without any problem. Printing works fine on my HPDeskjet printer, it will not work on a printer with a vertical density not equal to the horizontal density (Eg 300x300 dpi works fine but I think 300x600 will not work, so select the correct mode on your preferences printer). The card can be more than 30cm large or even more (not tested, but you'll get some problem to print it, as the program needs a lot of memory to draw the entire virtual screen, printing is done in one pass). The program can handle several documents in the same session, each new one is handled by a separate new task, so you can print a board, and work on another one. You can define the prefs to use or not the Workbench screen, but working on the Workbench will only work well, only if you have the good colors available, if you can't see the PCB board (tracks, pads and so on) in the AmiPCB window, use a separate screen (the ObtainBestPen function seems to work not perfectly on my system...) Using the program will not be too difficult if you were using AmiCAD: the look and feel is the same. To all users: ------------- If you write a catalog, please send me it or send it to Aminet, so other users can use it also. If you create some interesting clips (components) send me also them, I'll try to join them in the next release (if there is one, one day). If you are an english native language user, please send me your remarks about my menus, requesters, etc, perhaps I don't use the correct words for some actions or descriptions... Note to CyberVision users ------------------------- The program works pretty well under CyberGraphX but there are some visual problems under this system: when you draw some objects with filled areas, like triangles or boxes, the complement mode doesn't work at all, so there are many traces on the screen. Use the * numeric key to redraw the screen and all will be corrected. This problem doesn't appear under Amiga native modes and with the Picasso system (it seems it's CyberVision specific, with a CyberVision 643D card under CyberGraphX). This bug has been reported to Phase 5 but there is no correction for the moment and there will be no one I think now, so buy a Picasso ! (damned ! I didn't do it, bad choice !!!)...
