AmigActive vs. AmigaOS

In my hands I hold both the May-Issues of AmigActive(the last BIG english-spoken magazine) and AmigaOS(the last REALgerman-spoken magazine). Both have 66 colored sites, not very much but in these times... . AA (AmigActive) has one CD, which is in enhanced for OS3.5 (Glow-Icons) and has a really good CD-Prefs-File the CD is also good structured. Everytime the newest stuff. The only thing I miss is a little sign on the icons which show you if the program is ppc-compatible (like AmigaFormat had).

Now let us come to the written things in both magazines:
The first thing which is very surprising is that in AOS every product has five or six points ... is really every Amiga-product as good as revied in AOS (it seems that they support the Amiga-market more than you think). On the other hand the texts are good written and you understand nearly everything ... . Bit another bad thing about AOS is that the structure is so bad: neraly 7 sites are full of ordering other things and the description of the monthly disc; couldn`t you made thesethings on just 3 sites? More I can not say about AOS ... read the overall verdict!Oh no stop there are ssome workshops ... they are too difficult for somebody like me ... make some "beginner-guides" (hello to exAMIGA-Format

Now let us come to AA ... I only can say wow ... really good work! The test are really good (even a non English-man like me under stands them). When you read the magazine the first time the structure might be some confusing but you get used to the magazine very fast ... more I can and will not say about AA!

Overal Verdict - AmigActive:
I only can say, this is the best Amiga-Magazine for the markt, the only better magazine was CU ... . One point is despite negative ... the award: couldn`t you guys not make a better one? And drop these points, make procentages.Keep this good work.

What can I say .. NOTHING, below I write some points which are soooo:
- drop these disc
- let more serious readerletters be printed (also negative one!!!)
- not always 5 or six points
- send suscribers the magazine bevor they can get it at the newsagent
- spare more space for other things (nobody wants two sites of disc-description
Oh of course some points are good:
- PPC & Open-Sytem-News
- the shopper
