This is Maelcum, the alien formerly known as ModDan aka Dan Nicholson, supreme ruler of this sector of the galaxy. For those who have lived in a cloud-level monastery in Tibet for the last four-hundred years, I will tell you of my earth history. I am Aged 22 earth years. My favorite kind of music is noisy. Amongst other things I'm known for having written soundtrack music to some computer games, including "Star Control II" (Accolade, 1992, PC) and about six others. Many people call me at the most annoying times to talk about that game because my phone number got left in the MODs (which were easily ripped) somehow. I'm also known for founding the Kosmic Free Music Foundation (originally called Kosmic Loader Foundation, or KLF) back in 1991 or 1992. KFMF is a very popular (the most popular perhaps) digital music group with many distro BBSes and fans around the world, and a big net site at http://www.kosmic.org/. In 1995 one of my fellow Star Control II musicians, Riku Nuottajarvi, collaborated with me as FTZ on a CD called "Nothing Is True." This was probably one of the first albums made using the Internet, as Riku and I have never actually met. We worked by sending .MTM tracker files back and forth till we had the final productions, and then Riku mixed it all down with post-processing. The end result sounds great - contact me via the email address below if you're interested. It's on our little record label Area 51 Records, which has also put out 3 cassette releases and will be releasing another CD this summer by a group called Clonor the Other, which is The Hacker of Kosmic and myself. Nowadays I make a living working for an apparel (clothing) company called Logon, LLC. I'm their webmaster (check out http://www.logonow.com/) and general computer technology person, and I also do alot of the artwork for their shirts and caps. I'm a big fan of books by Phillip K. Dick, Willhelmina Baird, and Robert Anton Wilson, amongst others. My favorite TV shows are the X-Files, the apparently canceled American Gothic, and the old favorite of many, Twin Peaks. My hobbies include photography (nature scenes in particular), shooting (mostly targets, not people ;), fishing and hiking. Some of my favorite groups are Front 242, Black Dog Productions, Eat Static, Juno Reactor and Mixmaster Morris. Write me, it's always fun to hear from people.
