By now he should be accustomed in excusing himself in front of the crowds for the messes of his leaders. By now he should be able to boast a cold and calculating expression, far from be embarrassed.
Nevertheless, good old Petro didn't show to be touched, when he announcedthat a wall hamper the new Amiga dream realization. Hundreds of glances cast by hundreds of Amigans, tired after hundreds of disappointments and false rebirths.
Petro: a sweating forehead, a look, now dimmed from thin tears, now safe and strong. Petro withstands: ''I don't give up'', these are his words, this his glance's meaning.
What did you want to hear from the man that more than anybody else has believed in Amiga during the difficult moments?
During the Escom transition, he worked two years without any wage... And now he seems forced to sell Amy-socks and Amy-slacks to be able to hold its own office open.
He is, however, a great man.

As it was to be expected, the plans of Collas are gone to jump in the lake. But nevermind. The more it can be frustrating, the more it can be embarrassing, perhaps it's good. Finally here is the time to assimilate an old fleecian truth: the caretakers of our fortune are ourselves.
Do you think anyone surrendered after the departure (perhaps momentary...) of Collas?
There's already the Phoenix project... Will a callback to the mythical phoenix allow the rebirth of Amiga, reinforced by support by QNX, REBOL and AROS, from its own ashes?
Amiga goes on. We are still here, Amiga is still alive, at least from a ''spiritual'' point of view. Spiritually, the Amiga community will resist anyway. Technically, if the burning bird will not produce any Amiga successor, we'll meet all in using Linux, Free/NET-BDS or goodness knows what...
Look around: not all Amiga supporters use Amiga. Even in AmiWorld there 's a deep split. Some people have 4000 USD in Amiga hardware, others instead use Linux or different systems...
But all share the same purpose, the same ideal: AMIGA, either meant like idealism or like a heap of magical scrap iron.
We believe in Amiga and that 's all, with all its implications, all its contradictions.
We watch to the substance, not to the trade-mark of the case. Never more as now we need unity. Joined no more by the promises made by the Inc. on turn, but just by our spirit.

An occasion to get together ''phisically'' has been the 18 and the 19 September in Empoli. Planeta Amiga 1999 has been a great occasion to meet beyond the screen, in order to make acquaintance of AmiWorld, to introduce two new magazines: Amiga.it by Yure (not very good sales, but really good looking) and Amiga Life, the new paper-printed magazine that you can find soon by newsagents allover Italy...
It seems that Italy can boast information of quality in quantity... Let's hope for the best.
