Cisco login issues
Since the installation of the new, faster, Cisco servers on the 0845 0798112 lines,
some people have been experiencing problems logging in. This usually shows as a
failure at the password stage. This only seems to affect a couple fo models of
modem and a permanent fix with be found as soon as possible. The latest code upgrade
for the Cisco servers has already improved matters.
Meanwhile, another number has been set up for those affected, this connects to a setup
identical to that used on the standard lines before the upgrade.
If you are suffering login problems, please alter your setup to dial
0845 0798068
The code on the Cisco servers is being continually altered to find the best settings,
this means that you may sometimes find things OK and hit problems at other times.
Please mail ciscosupport@u-net.net with
details of your medem whenvver you have problems. This will enable them to gain a
better picture of the effectiveness of any changes.
Further developments will be announced here and in
u-net.support.amiga
as well as the normal U-Net bulletins.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
| Note: |
If you are using the Cisco servers on 0845 0798112 you will get best
performance if you set your MTU to 1500. This is the default value for
the Wirenet and NetConnect packages, but many Miami users are using 576.
We recommend that you change this to 1500 on Miami's Interface page.
