It still took time. Akiko was an awfully simple chip too IIRC.

C2P conversion has no direct relation to 3-D rendering. It just reorganizes
the data in an image so lazy programmers don't have to work out how to render
directly to planar format.

I'd be happy with the Super Nintendo Stunt Race FX.

Akiko does not directly help with any form of 3-D rendering to my knowledge
though. Sorry!
