Internet Explorer is also the most reliable browser on Windows. When it
comes to "compliant" on either platform, IE and pre-Gecko Netscape have
some tags that are not part of HTML4.0. This has been a pain for web-
masters who need to write pages that display correctly for different
browsers, as each sometimes needs these certain tags to display nicely,
and W3C 4.0-compliant browsers are hard-pressed to incorporate the
latest additions as W3C scurries after the fact to accept these tags.

IE has been one of Microsoft's biggest weapons in mayhem. I'd like to
see W3C leading the way, and browsers all having an equal shot. Some
realist I am, eh? ; } Espial and others would also benefit of course.

Using a browser's HTML engine does not mandate that any particular
theme or appearance be used.

The Gecko engine by virtue of being open source makes cross-platform
web browsers realistically achievable at some point. I don't know about
easy, but it makes sense on the desktop to write an bowsing app around
the Gecko engine.
