It has already been determined months ago. Matthew Kille asked about it
in July. It's coming in 1.1. Or, should I say.. erm, nevermind. I mean
in the next major update. It will be both a specification and a series of
tools.

He got the feature set right the first time around. The confusion arises
from the existence of both a 1.01 (or 1.0.1 if you're creating an RPM
package...) and a 1.1. Confusing and conflicting version numbering
schemes are one of the joys of software development. Witness Sun's Java2,
which corresponded to JRE and JDK 1.2.x (now 1.3). We're gradually moving
away from that. It's not that easy, though, when you have to cope with
existing conventions and tools that do a great job at confusing things as
much as possible.

Such comments are always appreciated. They're more effective when sent
through the appropriate channel, though. In this case I'd say
friend@amiga.com or maybe Bill's address, since it was his executive
update and he has his address on the site. I hope he won't spank me
because of what I just said. ;)
