As I had no idea what to expect or even what it entailed

It seems the "conventional" music distribution channel is failing,
as the product & sales are out there but unless it's on the top 40
no-one is interested in stocking it..
As I am now "officially" in my 40's the 70's & 80's stuff sticks in
my head & trying to find it is a real pain..
I gave up listening to radio about the same time rap music started,
now with all the "trace" music & other variants, I just get a headache.
Wow, I just read the last paragraph & I am starting to sound
like my dad, geez, is that scary or what ?

You know, thinking about it, if they did buy it, they could at least
charge a "joining fee" or a subscribership & make a packet,
I for one wouldn't mind parting with a few bucks a year to have
access to this service. Maybe even a download fee of a
dollar or 2 per song...
Give "short" versions for free to listen to & charge for the
whole song DL, with free access.. The possibilities are endless.
I guess you will always get the ones that want everything for free
but I recon if I can get the bits I want at 10% of the CD cost
it's a bargain...
I think you're right, they shot their own foot off.....
