| Subject: | On floor begging for help now with OS3.5 HD |
I've been struggling with my A1200 OS3.5 HD for too long now and I
have got a little bit further, but is no doing even weirder things.
To see the problem I had, check my previous thread:
Please Help My A1200 OS3.5 HD
I've taken advise, read stuff on the web and have now done the
following:
1. Install OS3.1 onto a 500Mb partition with no other partitions
created.
2. Install my EZ-IDE-IDEFix system and to access the CD-ROM
3. Pre-installed OS3.5
4. Installed OS3.5
5. Installed Boing Bag 1
6. Updated the filesystem on the 500Mb partition with HDToolbox
7. Edited the Devs:NSDPatch.cfg file to un-rem atapi.device
8. Created some partitions: 3.5Gb 3.5Gb 3.5Gb 2Gb 850Mb and left some
undefined.
9. Formatted a 3.5GB in OS3.5
10. Formatted another 3.5GB in OS3.5
11. Formatted another 3.5GB in OS3.5
12. Formatted the 850Mb in OS3.5
13. In a shell window, typed info and it told me all those partitions
were validating.
14. There was no disk activity so rebooted.
15. On startup, the first two 3.5Gb reported fine after typing info
in a shell window (there were a few errors on the drive. Is this
normal? I know most drives have a few errors, but I've not seen it
reported here before.)
16. The final 3.5GB and the 850Mb, were unformatted.
Why did they do that????
17. Installed Opus Magellan II + patches, and tried formatting the
850Mb partition in that. The operation failed....
Why?!?!?!? What am I doing wrong??!?!? Please help cos I'm gonna cry
and I'm serious!!!!
Adam.
