If your daughter wants to program in long tearm she should look in to
C or Java.

But I think what you are realy asking is that she going to be a
newbie to programing thing. As such C has high learing curve could
make her lose all intrest in programing before she even started. For
that reasion I surgest a Basic programing lingo.

As such BlitzBasic isn't a bad place to start. It a rather good
programing lingo. Easy to understand but giving you that power.
There are lot of top software writen in Blitz.

Now you could buy BlitzBasic but there lot of sounds that programers
are just about to make the Blitz freeware.
