Why not? OS3.9 is an upgrade to OS3.0
All it needs is bug fixes, support for new hardware such as big drives,
and a few utilities. All very welcome, but not amazing, just useful.
The AmigaDE is completely different. Nobody outside AmigaInc really
knows much about what it will be like. There is a good chance it will be
impressive. As you say, it won't be much use without programs. I think
they will come, over the next few years.

My A4000 needs a new graphics card, so this could be a good way to get
one. It might also run the existing software a bit faster than it runs
now, if I install a G4 processor. So this is a useful hardware upgrade,
but it depends on there being software to run 68k code reliably on a G4.
Some time, it might also be able to run the AmigaDE.
