It doesn't. The latter would be useful, but always crashed my A4000 and
A2000. The former isn't so useful from a CD writer point of view, since
other cd writing software can read CDDA directly anyway.

Nor does it appear ot have an option to force use of a particular driver
when the drive isn't recognised.

I would have bought it if it hadn't been so hideously unstable :(

And unnecessary. There is a standard command set for CD writers (MMC).
Any CD writer software should have the ability to use a standard MMC
driver if it doesn't explicitly recognise the drive. This is how MakeCD
works. It checks the drive ID against an internal list of known drives,
and uses the generic driver, with an option to change it, if it doesn't
know the drive.
