Hey, all...
Thanks for all your help when I was whining about my Cyberstorm. Friday
night I got all the libraries straightened out, and I wasted a good
portion of the weekend reliving my '80's childhood by playing classic
video games on MAME. :) [BTW...anybody have any hints on improving the
sound on MAME?? Or is that just a problem with MAME itself and not
user-fixable?] V2600 still is slow as all hell, though,
unfortunately...
Geez...I was excited when Software Hut told me the Cyberstorm was back
in stock, but now that I have it I don't know what to do with it! I got
the SCSI working the way I'm used to it now instead of that whacko
no-reselection setup I was using...I must say the SCSI controller on
this thing is WAY better than the one on my GVP 060!...the RAM is maxed
out, although I notice that Workbench reports about 5MB less RAM with
the Cyberstorm than it did with the GVP. I love that the CPU fan is
quiet...heck, even if it weren't drowned out by my louder-than-hell PSU
fan [it's almost brand-new; it's loud by nature inside the PSU but
dead-silent outside of it!], it's still quiet!
However, even though my troubles seem to have gone, the idea of whapping
a cricket to death with a salmon still appeals to me...
