I had that, in fact - all mine were on the second archive and hitting retry just wouldnt work, I had to eject the disk, press retry so it brought up the CD requester then reinsert the CD - it would then copy another 10% of the file and i would have to redo it.
HOWEVER! I found this to be connected to the RAM: problem I had: I didnt have enough Ram: space for the 3rd archive file. Once I had done the following (and restarted the install process) all went swimingly - no read/write errors or anything.
Assign Ram: Dismount
Assign Ram: Cache:
Where Cache is any HD partition with enough space to temporarilly hold the files.
My next problem I had to overcome was that on runnning either the FPU or non-FPU version it would Guru on me.
Ran snoopdos and it reported not seeing Rtgmaster.library. Now you would have thought that it would throw up a requester saying that instead of Guruing, wouldnt you??
So I hunt down the RTGmaster on aminet and install first the 1.3 version. Then the 1.6 version, then the library update.
Rerun nightlong. horrar! No Guru. :)
Boooo! "RTG Requestor Error" "No appropriate screen modes available! Have you installed the RTG libraries in Libs:rtg?"
Well duh! the installer did that FOR ME! Ok folks. Anyone help me over this final (I hope) hurdal?? Is there something I need to get for RTG master to make it work??? A prefs file, another library? (rtgAMI/CGX/EGS/P96/PICA are all in libs:rtg - my system runs on P96).
HELP!
