Of course not, what's the point in using non-standard hardware? It
would end up like another classic amiga situation where everything
costs a fortune.

Part of the announcement said as long as you have an AmigaDE friendly
CPU you can run it. It'll probably run on x86 at the same time as the
AmigaOne gets released, but you can wait and find out then, no doubt
someone will try it.
Remember, it's only a hardware guideline that Amiga have released.
The AmigaOne could be seen as the name of the transition machine,
it's not the be-all-and-end-all of what hardware the OS runs on. Why
bitch about the available boxes they've (not) mentioned, when all
they'll actually release is the software. The press release
concentrated on explaining the upgrade path because we are the people
most likely to be interested in the new OS at the moment.
Given the fact that the SDK ran on x86 from the beginning, the OS
will probably be avilable for that when AmigaOne is released.
