Well i initially tried Zorro III because this is a Zorro III Amiga, but that
freezes the A3000 when the monitor driver is started. (This is in CGfx btw,
though P96 also freezes the A3000) I then tried the Zorro II option but
this too fails, the Amiga doesn't freeze, but no screenmodes are added and
the CGfx mode editor does nothing. (I guess because the Z2 driver has found
a CV64 3D in Z3 mode, which it is in)

The only Amigas to have a Buster chip are B2000s, and later, but these are
for the syncronous Zorro II systems, then Super Buster came along to support
the asyncronous Zorro III system. Rev. 9 (badly) and rev. 11 (fine) also
implement Zorro III DMA access and Quick Interupts or something.

Basically you won't have a Buster in the A1200 as only
B2000/2500/1500/3000(T)/4000(T) have them. :)

Yep.

However it seems as no one has an answer, even Eyetech or now DCE. Have you
tried Picasso '96 as well? It crashes like CGfx for me. Like I say I've
tried CGfx v3 (CV64 3D install disk), v4 and Picasso '96 1.43 and 2.0. And
it doesn't work on either my motherboard '030/'882 or A3640 r3.1 on super
buster 11.

This is annoying. Noticeably I don't have any other Zorro III cards (8UP,
Buddha and GGate all allocate in Zorro II address space and are Zorro II
cards) so perhaps if I tried another Zorro III i might suffer problems - but
then I have buster 11 and ShowConfig tells me that the CV64 3D has allocated
256MB of my A3000's Zorro III memory map...

Yarghhhhhh! :(

All the best,
