Actually the agreement with Frank Mariak is entirely between DCE and him and
nothing to do with Eyetech. It is (in my understanding) to allow him to be
funded to produce the VooDoo driver, and DCE is the natural choice of
'sponsor' because they already pay him royalties for the CV64-2D, CVPPC &
BVision. In my understanding Elbox have not offered to stump up any cash;
but if they change their mind they can always sub licence the VooDoo from
DCE on a per board basis just as we are doing for the Predator.
You surely dont expect Frank Mariak to develop/port the drivers and then
release them as PD. Paying for the 'star attraction' - and therefore
ensuring that it comes to fruition - is in fact quite the reverse of
stealing it.

Ask the vendor exactly what he meant by promising to supply VooDoo drivers
that were either not written or not licenced.

Its their choice. Its the local bus technology on the phase5 PPC cards that
is needed to overcome the edge connector limitations. Alternatively we could
incorporate this technology on the main predator board but it would push its
price up.

But why else would you want a VooDoo card & driver if not to replace the
BVision board ?
