Don't press Esc until after the keyboard has reset, otherwise the
keypress will be lost. That one had me going for ages, I was pressing
the key as soon as I'd reset.
The most reliable way to do it is:
Reset
Wait for Caps Lock to flash
Press and hold Esc

I've used a variety of CD-Rs with my CSPPC, including a couple of
Yamahas. I use 50->68 pin adaptors from Maplins. Make sure you've got
the latest cybppc.device, earlier ones had reselection problems which
screwed up CD burning.
