Hello!
->
Hi,
I connect with Miami at 57,600 with a 33.6 modem and an 030 40mgz A1200. I
put in a different modem config number to get that high. I used to only get
33.6 at the most, usually lower. I'm using a pcm modem on my 1200.

If it's an LASAT-PCMCIA-modem, that's normal. I have one of these in spare, but can use it only when I switch off my MTEC030 accelerator , or switch at least down to 4 MB Ram. It connects always at 56700 REL as Miami says.
FTP is exectly twice as fast as with my 28800' modem, so I guess it's for real :) .
I read that they implemented the 56k mode, but due to it's instability on
bad phonelines, they selled it partly disabled as 33.6, with an option for an software-update to 56k. But the modem itself has enough brains to connect at 56k when it's possible ( aka, when the interface feeds data fast enough ).
Would you mind using prepcard on it? I'm just curious.
