That sounds too slow. When you added the card did you perform a flash
upgrade at the same time?

Hold down ESCape at bootup...there's
SCSI - configuring the SCSI (surprise!)
RAM - configuring the RAM
SYSTEM - setting options such as shadowROM
CDROM - allowing to boot from the CDROM using a basic filesystem

BITMAPCACHE=YES set in the Monitor Tooltypes?
WARP3D installed? (dumb question....but you'd be surprised)
What version of CGX did you install...if it was ver3...get the updated
version from www.vgr.com ...
All Bvisions have 8MB of VIDEO RAM...so unless you have a really massive
screen open (1600x1200x24 (32?) or something ) then there's usually plenty
to run Wipeout in 640x480x16
