The first of a new batch of Amiga magazines, AmigActive (pronounced Amiga Active) is a spiritual descendent of the defunct CU Amiga Magazine. Aimed at a more technical market than Amiga Format, it shares many staff with its illegitimate parent. The first issue came as a shock to many people, surprised that the Amiga market could be considered large enough to allow a new magazine to be launched. The first issue was a 76 page staple-bound glossy aimed at the existing market. The magazine joined the select number of Amiga publications to publish a CD-only edition. The emphasis is quite clearly on using current technology rather than holding onto the past. AmigActive retails at 4.95UKP.
