The market is small, we can't afford 150 pages and thick card covers. However
the paper stock is much better than CU or AF have had in a while; we're not
planning on improving it any more than that. The main problem is that with
the glossy paper and a 200 line screen (CU used 133) you can see registration
errors (where the printers don't align colour plates) more clearly. The
printers have been duly yelled at about their registration standards.
One problem with using glossy paper is the lay - because the fibres are
flattened, the paper feels thinner. It is however a good weight. Heft a copy
of AA and AF (which has more paper in in) and see how they compare
weightwise.
