You've probably heard this query before in the afb mailing list but I'm
afraid I accidentally deleted the reply I got from one person. I have a SVGA
Sony Trinitron 110EST monitor and am having a slight annoying occurrence
when displaying any native amiga screenmode (DblNTSC, DblPAL, Euro72,
Multiscan, etc). I have not yet got a scandoubler for display NTSC and PAL
screens but when I display the previously mentioned native amiga screens -
the picture is fine apart from an annoying set of faint vertical lines that
are present on any screenmode I use. I am currently using an Eyetech VGA
Adaptor and I know that it is definitely not the monitor's problem since the
same occurrence happens when I hook my Amiga up to a much older Philips VGA
monitor. I know I am not suffering the "tearing screen" syndrome that
Eyetech claim they can fix on some A1200 motherboard revisions - so what is
the problem ? Is it my motherboard (rev 2B - but no timings problems with an
Apollo 040 card) or is the problem down to the actual adaptor (I know that
Eyetech also sell a buffered VGA adaptor - but they claim that is only of
use the A4000 owners). I know that my monitor can handle the KHz and Hz
frequencies being delivered to it by my Amiga. The problem is slight but
still visibly annoying and most prominent when using grey backgrounds. Will
a Power Computing ScanMagic perhaps fix this problem since it outputs to a
separate 15-pin VGA port ?
