I doubt it, the things are almost unbreakable. It's certainly beyond the
Post Office's capabilities, you need the skilled services of Securicor
to break a CD.

Which sounds like a very rare occurrence. The total cost of sending a
replacement to the subscriber would be about 50p.

Exactly. Jewel cases actually *cause* damage, they can tear the magazine
cover as people remove them from the shelf and replace them.

It's more the bulk and the weight of the things, and the way they can
catch.

That's my point. it's the associated costs that add up, the actual cases
are extremely cheap.

I threw 200 perfect cases away earlier this year, they were getting in
the way (I store CDs without the cases).
