Subject:Suggestions for the magazine

From: gary waddington <garyw@cdr.org.uk>

Well, I gave the magazine and CD a thorough checking out last night, one
of the few things in a long time that has managed to tear me away from
the N64! It was like the last year never happened, so great to see the
same CD directory structure, I can't stress strongly enough how much of
a pain it is trying to find stuff on the AF CDs.

I've just got a couple of suggestions at the moment, one serious, one
not so serious. The first suggestion is some form of indication whether
programs (particularly demos) require AGA or not to run. Don't worry, I
don't have a hideously out of date A500, just that no matter how much I
chuck in my A2000 I'm never going to AGA support. It doesn't have to be
anything amazingly fancy, perhaps different drawer icons for AGA and
non-AGA demos. On a related note, I guess at the moment there is no need
for filler material, but once in a while it would be nice for
nostalgia's sake to have a collection of old, classic demos.

The second, not so serious suggestion, is the return of that rubbery,
sticky stuff that was used to stick CD's to CU Amiga. That stuff was
excellent fun! More seriously though, although the glue used doesn't
actually damage the magazine when the CD is removed, I found it a bit
irritating that when I folded the magazine in double to read I found
that the back cover kept sticking to the front one.

Other than that, I've got nothing to complain about so far, I'll have to
get that subscription cheque in the post some time soon.

Gary.

PS. Was I hallucinating when I was setting up the CD and saw the program
CUCDFile, shouldn't that be AACDFile now? :)
