*** AOM_RAW DataType V40.1 *** by Christian Buchner This is a datatype for images contained on the CDs produced by Applied Optical Media Corporation. It is loosely based on the BMP datatype sourcecodes found in the OS 3.1 Native Developer Kit. This datatype was originally written by David N.Junod. All changes were done by Christian Buchner. Installation ------------ Copy devs/Datatypes/AOM_RAW#? SYS:devs/Datatypes/ Copy classes/Datatypes/aom_raw.datatype SYS:classes/Datatypes/ Now reboot or type "AddDatatypes REFRESH" in a shell. Introduction ------------ This datatype will load the pictures found on the following CDs that were originally produced for Commodore's greatest flop, the CDTV: - American Vista Atlas - World Vista Atlas and perhaps some more CDs produced by Applied Optical Media Corporation. These pictures have a simple file structure, so I decided to write a datatype for it. Most of these pictures are in HAM6, some also in 32 colors. For displaying the pictures in HAM6, you will have to tell MultiView to use a screen because HAM6 cannot be displayed in a workbench window for obvious reasons. This is probably the fastest datatype ever written because there is no decoding to be done at all. The pictures simply consist of planar raw data with a simple header.
