Nomi Malone is a fiercely independent 19-year-old woman possessing a "fuck you" attitude and the kind of survival instincts that hint at a truly troubled past.

Nomi arrives in Las Vegas with little more than her hunger to succeed and her skills as a dancer. As an effective outlet for her anger, creativity, and sexuality, dancing is the single most important facet of Nomi's life, and she wants to be appreciated for her dancing rather than for her looks or her ability to follow the rules. She'll step on the toes of other people if she thinks it will advance her dancing career, but she's not willing to give up control over her life or her sexuality to anyone.

Still, Nomi's desires for more respect and power make her vulnerable to those with the means to tempt her, especially Zack Carey and Cristal Connors. The one person Nomi cares for other than herself is her roommate, Molly Abrams. When Molly is hurt by Nomi's new associates, Nomi realizes she's falling prey to temptation and selling out her beliefs and self-control. For the first time, she must decide if achieving her dreams and aspirations is worth the sacrifice of her soul.
