When cast as Cristal, Showgirls'
backstabbing dance sensation, Gershon starred in such movies as The
Player, Out for Justice, Pretty In
Pink, Red Heat, Cocktail, Joey Breaker, John Sayle's City of
Hope, and the made-for-TV mini-series Sinatra.
Gerson was instantly apprehensive about playing a Las Vegas diva, as she hadn't studied dance in two years. Two months of intensive training helped bring her up to speed.
"When I looked around, I was surrounded by the best dancers from New York and Los Angeles. I have so much respect for them because they work so hard. They are so good, not to mention honest; at first, they were looking at me like, 'Yeah, this is the diva dancer?' It made me work very, very hard."
