Cristal Connors is the star of the lavish stage show Goddess, and as such is the embodiment of the sexuality and glamour of Las Vegas night life. More importantly, she represents everything Nomi Malone wants to be, and is able to use her status to manipulate the younger dancer.

Cristal understands the cruel life cycle of the Vegas showgirl. She knows that her time in the limelight is near its end, and she wants to pass on her knowledge of the business (in effect, pass on her crown) to Nomi. But Cristal is more interested in pulling Nomi's strings than in building a sincere friendship with her.

Cristal is very much into her image as a diva and chooses her acquaintances accordingly. She maintains a relationship with Zack Carey in order to stay in the spotlight, and not out of any genuine feelings for him. Like Las Vegas itself, she is wholly artificial, both emotionally (as she lavishes false affections on others), and physically (with her false eyelashes, dyed hair, and fake breasts).
