Athena has certainly not limited herself to film though, and
the breadth of her experience would make most young actresses green with envy. In addition to
appearances in commercials and v
ideos too numerous to list, the 5'5" brown-haired, blue-eyed talent
has popped up in places as varied as a guest-starring spot in the steamy cable television anthology
"Red Shoe Diaries," and the headlining spot on the interactive CD-ROM "Quarterback At
tack." Like
her "Virtual Combat" co-star, Don "the Dragon" Wilson, Athena also spent time
early in her career on a daytime soap opera, appearing on "The Young and the Restless." But her work
in prime-time television is even mor
e impressive. She has co-starred on HBO's acclaimed talk-show
parody "The Larry Sanders Show" with Gary Shandling, as well as appearing opposite television's most
popular teenage surgeon on "Doogie Howser, M.D." Athena was one of the stars on the pilo
t episode of
the ill-fated series "Ocean Park," and was also a lead on the Fox Network's political call-to-arms
for young voters, "Rock the Vote."
And when she isn't active before the camera, Athena is noth
ing if
not physically active in her own life. She is skilled in over 15 sports from bicycling to boxing, and
from skateboarding to water skiing. No stranger to the martial arts, you're just as likely to find
Athena performing her own hand-to-hand com
bat stunts in "Virtual Combat" as former martial arts world
champion Don "the Dragon" Wilson. However, Athena is certainly not one to
concentrate on enhancing her body and letting her mind go to waste. Athena would be just as ha
ppy to
practice her fluent German or French with foreign-language speaking fans. And in the minuscule amount
of spare time in her life, she ceaselessly helps to promote her projects, going out of her way to tour
and make appearances to meet her growin
g numbers of fans.
True to tireless form, Athena has not sit still after concluding "Virtual Combat" for A-PIX Entertainment. She appears on the season premiere of the hugely-popular sitcom "Seinfeld," and follows it up with a role in t he upcoming Eddie Murphy comedy remake of "The Nutty Professor." At the rate she's going, "Virtual Combat" will someday be just one of many gleaming highlights in Athena Massey's extensive show-biz career.
