Biography

Born: April 22, 1967
Sheryl was brought up in Boulder, Colorado in a creative household, her mother being an artist, her father an architect, her younger sister a piano teacher, and her younger brother who is studying film at Colorado University. Sheryl wanted to become a dancer, and spent endless hours training in modern and jazz dance. But knee injuries forced her to look around for other diversions. She tried out for a school play, and knew instantly that she had found what she wanted to do in life.

After graduation from Fairview High School, Sheryl attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California, and summer programs at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the National Conservatory Theater in Denver. She then moved to Seattle to look for stage work. She appeared in several plays, worked in some educational videos and performed in professional acting workshops.

Sheryl made her screen debut in Twin Peaks, which ultimately led to her relocation in Los Angeles. After Twin Peaks, Sheryl appeared in two feature films, David Lynch's Wild at Heart (1990), in which she plays a good witch, and Love, Lies and Murder (1991), playing a 17-year-old who gets involved in a bizarre murder plot. In 1992, Sheryl showed the world her true talent with a powerful performance in the movie, Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me; David Lynch's prequel to the Twin Peaks TV series. She also appeared on stage along with veteran actor Al Pacino in Salome, playing the title character.

With an already impressive list of movies to her credit, Sheryl continues to pursue her acting career, with Mother Night, a thriller, as one of her most recent projects. In her free time, Sheryl reads, favoring biographies and historical fiction and continues to dance as much as possible. She loves animals and likes hiking and the outdoors. She also enjoys working as a volunteer with young children.
