Doc2AG - a short comment Version 1.1 09/19/1993 ==" ABOUT Doc2AG: ------------- The idea for this this little program came to me when I started using GNUPLOT. For the Amiga implementation is what I would call "poor", the intension was to use the features of the AmigaGuide® to make online-help access more convenient. REQUIREMENTS: ------------- Doc2AG should work on any Amiga but it will need about 80kB of free memory (depends on the number of topics and links in GNUPLOT.DOC). The conversion time varies between ~30 s (68040/Harddisk) and ~20 min (68000/Floppy disk). You may think that 20 min is quite a lot of time, but just try to do a conversion manually and you will recognize that 20 min is short. Before you start converting the GNUPLOT.DOC file make sure that there is enough disk space on your destination volume because Doc2AG creates a temporal file (about the same size as GNUPLOT.DOC) and the final output file (about 1.5 times the size of GNUPLOT.DOC). USAGE: ------ To convert the GNUPLOT.DOC file to a GNUPLOT.GUIDE file just type: doc2ag GNUPLOT.DOC GNUPLOT.GUIDE If no error occurs the program will tell you this after execution by writing a line like: doc2ag success: Conversion completed. Found X topics and Y links. where X is the number of topics and Y the number of links. There a three possible types of errors: 1. Files could not be opened 2. Not enough free memory 3. Maximum number of links or topics is exceeded All user definable settings for doc2ag can be changed by editing the doc2ag.user file. So if an error occurs concerning more topics or if you would like to have another outfit for your AmigaGuide® just use this little file. HISTORY: -------- v1.0 - initial release v1.1 - added doc2ag.user file for user specific settings of AmigaGuide® CREDITS: -------- Thanx to Michael Illgner for answering my silly questions.
