Hiho pals...

now there are gone two months 'til the last issue and finally after
several major problems (HD crashed and so on) it is finally finished ;-)
This time there are not much documentions and cheats and so on, but
before they got OLD as every other so called "doc-disc", i decided to
release these few ones.

Until the last period of entering this business there were several
releases of other groups, but believe me, these dox-disx must have gone
into the trashcan ;.), but not if you like to read documents recently past
centuries!

Now i hope you enjoy my work and have fun with it ;-))

Signing off for this time

                        FULL DOCUMENATION TO BUBBLEGUN

TYPED UP BY IGGY/HELLFIRE

LOADING

Simply switch on your Amiga and insert disc 1 in the internal floppy
drive. The game will then load.

The Game

You play the part of a crocodile, and your objective is to find your way
out of each level, eventually wining your freedom. The game contains 40
levels, and on completion of each level a password is obtained giving
access to the next level.

On each level, there is an exit gateway which is opened when you pick up
the exit key. The exit key will normally be well hidden, and the main
problem is finding it. Once you have the key you just need to walk to the
exit to complete a level. However, there is a time limit within you must
do this, and you also lose energy by coming into contact with the other
creatures inhabiting the level - if you lose all your energy, or run out
of time, you die and have to start the level again.

In addition to the exit key, there are other objects that can be picked
up. These are normally shown enclosed in a square, and as such can be
easily recognised. Below are some of the objects to be found on level 1.

E  = EXTRA ENERGY
-> = DOUBLE SPEED
T  = EXTRA TIME
I  = INVULNERABILITY

There are also chests on the level, which can be opened (by simply walking
over them) when you hold all three pieces of the key for that chest. This
reveals the contents of the chest. The chest and key pieces are colour
coded - to open the chest with the green lock requires you to be holding
the three pieces of the green key. Note that you can only hold three
objects at one time, and the three currently in your possession are shown
at the top of the screen.

It should also be noted that when you pick up the exit key, it disappears
 - you do not carry it around with you - and the words "exit open" are
displayed at the top of the screen. When "exit open" is displayed, all you
have to do is walk to the centre of the exit gate to finish the level.

You will also find extra pellets for use in your gun - at the top right of
the screen the number of pellets you have is shown. As long as you have
some pellets, you can shoot bubbles at the other creatures - if you hit
one, it becomes temporarily encased in a bubble, and you must then pop the
bubble by jumping on it to kill the creature. Stand over the pellets and
pull down to pick them up.

Picking up pieces of fruit and gems (by walking over them) will give you
points. Every time you collect 500 points you gain an extra 10 seconds of
time.

CONTROLS

The game is controlled via a joystick as follows:
push left/right :run left/right
push up :jump
pull down :pick up object (you must be standing over it)
press fire :fire your bubble gun

keyboard: P (pause on/off), Q (quit when paused).

THE GRID
At the top of the screen the following is shown, from left to right:
Energy: when this runs out you die!
Exit open/shut: indicates whether or not you have found the exit key.
Score: Your score!
Objects held: up to three objects in your possession
Time: Time left
Pellets: number of bubble gum pellets for your gun.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Some levels contain doorways that will let you pass through to another
screen - these are normally indicated by a downward pointing arrow. To
pass through, stand in the centre of the doorway and pull down on the
joystick. You will also find pressure pads in the floor which activate
barriers, location transporters (stand in them and pull down) and spaces
across which you must build bridges (by collecting the bridge blocks and
dropping them at the indicated spot).

So

Einträge wieder her.

Kataloges an.

bietet u.a.
 aktiv!

"DPAINT". Standartmäßig ist folgender Pfad und Programmname eingestellt:
DPAINTIV:DPAINT. Sie können Ihre Einstellungen abspeichern, für diese
Sitzung beibehalten oder zu den Defaultwerten zurückkehren.

IMPACT 1995 LOADING INSTRUCTIONS - AMIGA/ATARI ST

Place the game disk in the internal drive and reset the computer. If you
have an Amiga 1200 or Amiga 4000 hold down both mouse buttons and select
"disable cache" and "original chipset" before booting the game.

HOW TO PLAY
The object is to demolish the wall on each screen - there are 128 level in
all. Enter a password (these are given after screens 10, 20, 30, 40, 50,
60 and 70), or press the left mouse button to start the game. The left
button is also used to launch the ball from the bat (but after 2 seconds
the ball will launch itself automatically). While the ball is on the bat
you can adjust its position by holding down the right mouse button and
moving the mouse left and right.

Use the mouse to move the bat left and right to hit the ball against the
wall of bricks. If you miss the ball you lose it (you start the game wih
five).
Though most bricks are destroyed with a single hit, some must be hit more
than once, whilst others are indestructible. On certain screen you`ll even
encounter invisible bricks!

ALIENS
The aliens that move about the screen are mostly harmless, but they can
interfere by deflecting the ball. However, on some screens the aliens drop
small yellow stun bombs - if one of these hits the bat it is paralysed for
about a second. Aliens are destroyed on contact with either the bat or the
ball and score 100 points.

TOKENS AND WEAPONS
Some bricks contain yellow tokens which can be used to purchase weapons -
catch them if you can. Any tokens unspent at the end of the level score
1000 points. The nine weapons are represented by icons - a white square
shows the weapon currently available for purchase (this depends on how
many tokens you have). Press the right button to buy it.

Slowdown (1 token): Reduces the speed of the ball. Can be used more than
once.
Magnet (2 tokens): Allows you to catch the ball and hold it for about 2
secs.
Multiball (3 tokens): Splits the ball into 3.
Wide bat (4 tokens): Enlarges the bat (the extension is not affected by
stun bombs).
Torch (5 tokens): Lights up invisible bricks.
Laser (6 tokens): Allows you to fire laser bolts with the left button -
but beware, some bricks reflect laser bolts!
Smart bomb (7 tokens): All aliens are removed from the screen, and do not
reappear. Once purchased, activate by pressing the right mouse button.
Missile (8 tokens): Allows you to fire up to three missiles, one at a
time, by pressing the left mouse button. Missiles can destroy multi-hit
bricks with a single hit.
Force Field (9 tokens): The most powerful weapon: the force field
encircles the ball, allowing it to smash through bricks and aliens without

All weapons other than torch are lost when you lose a ball. All are lost
at the end of the level. Some cannot be used together, eg laser and
missle, magnet and multiball. Choosing one will cancel the other.

BONUSES
An extra ball is awarded if you destroy, in the correct order, bricks
containing the letters B-O-N-U-S. Scoring 50,000 points also awards an
extra ball.

PAUSING THE GAME
To abort the game press ESC. Any other key will pause the action (press a
key to restart).

DESIGNING YOUR OWN SCREENS
The 48 screens from 81 to 128 can be edited using the screen designer,
which is selected by pressing Return as the game begins to load. Use the
cursor keys to move around the screen and press space to draw a brick in
the colour currently selected. With F9 and F10 you can cycle through the
available colours (use black to erase a brick).

Press M to make a brick multi-hit, I to make it indestructible, or R to
make it laser-reflective. Invisible bricks are created by pressing M, I
or R without first drawing a brick. Press B, O, N, U or S to draw a bonus
brick.

Use F6 and F7 to move between screens. Return enters a mode in which you
can edit parameters: initspd, the initial speed of the ball; accel, the
acceleration; maxspd, the maximum speed the ball can reach; tokens, the
number of tokens hidden in bricks; speedup, the nymber of bricks left when
super speedup begins; aliens, the number of aliens of each type (no more
than 6 in total); bombs, the rate at which aliens drop smart bombs; to
kill, how many times a multi-hit block must be hit.

Press F1 to save the screens you have designed to the program disk, then
reset the machine and reload the game to play them. The password "user"
takes you straight to screen 81.

* A LITTLE NOTE FROM THE BACK OF THE BOX *
Impact unashamedly takes you back to the days when games were fun, and
didn`t need 17 disks, or manuals two feet thick. When your kid brother or
Grandmother could join in without anyone getting embarrased.

HMM quite!

Yoho mates!

This time we decided to release only the screen passwords, although we might
'push a trainer' later. We have a few reasons to do it this way. The first
one is that the game didn't work properly on my (Coolorado) A2000, and I have
tried to turn off every possible cache/mem of any kind so I just don't get it.
The second reason is that the hf-intro (guess it was an intro?) didn't start,
so to play the game, I had to remove it (Maybe that's why the game doesn't
work, eh Rebel?). Every time I lost one life or was supposed to warp level
the game kind of froze. But I ain't blaming Hellfire for this bug, coz it
could be my computer fucking it up, so if the game works fine for you, then
stay cool, and play calm!

Screen Passwords are:

GOLD - FISH - WALL - PLUS - HEAD - FORK - ROAD - USER

That's all. Hmm, by the way, if you wonder how I could 'phreak' out the
passwords without the game working, then you don't know the art of hacking!

2) Reboot, holding down both mouse buttons to bring up the startup menu.
3) Select BOOT OPTIONS
4) Disable DF0
5) Set the boot disk to HD0 (or whatever your boot hd is called)
6) Click OKAY

8) At the CLI prompt type: (change it to suit your system)
	ASSIGN KINGPIN: HD0:GAMES/KINGDIR

9) Okay, now it should be working. Enjoy! If it's not working and you're sure
you did everything right, then don't complain at me! It works for me!

Um also beispielsweise
eine Schrifttafel einzublenden, müssen Sie zunächst eine neue Seite
anlegen.

ersten Text, zum Beispiel >> jOiN tO RENEGaDE! <<.

mehrzeiliger Texte.

Introduction

This package was supposed to be an upgrade that was due to be released
several months after the original Skidmarks was completed (December 93).
It was originally intended that we would release a new track editor that
would be friendly enough for users to create their own tracks.

Sadly it was not to be and several months later, we decided to simply add
another two track disks to the original package. These were completed some
six months ago.

We then found by using a different sprite system we could have 8 cars with
AGA machines and set about redesigning the sprite converter which we are
proud to announce has been included in this release for users to add their
own cars
With new cars and new tracks we then thought a quick rewrite of the front
end was in order. That was four months ago.

It may be due to bad management, too many other projects to distract us,
general laziness, or bloody mindedness but Super Skidmarks 2 is finally
finished, we hope it was worth the wait...

NEW FEATURES

*New 8 car mode for AGA machines
*Shared screen mode for up to 4 player team racing
*Triple split screen mode for 3 players on one Amiga
*Caravan towing, wo! what a holiday!
*12 new tracks as well as compatibility with original 12
*New cars including Mini, VW, F1, Cow and Midget
*New Acid Intelligence technology for computer drivers
*Super view mode for locally linked AGA machines
*Improved comms support for local and remote linking
*Competition play with a multitude of challenging series
*Imagine->Skidmarks car converter for user defined cars

Memory and System requirements

Super Skidmarks 2 should run on any Amiga with 1 megabyte of memory.

Those with more memory will be able to have more than one type of car
racing at once and may even have some music to listen to while selecting
options.

Those with AGA Amigas can enjoy the new hi-res screen modes as well as
racing 8 cars at once.

Modem owners can enjoy SS2 improved comms support and race against others
over the phone lines.

SS2 also supports 4 joystick adapters. Thos device connects two extra
joysticks to an Amiga via the parallel port.(The manaual then goes on to
explain how to build one complete with drawings)

The Super Skidmarks 2 User Interface.

SS2 includes numerous new options which cann all be accessed via the user
interface. Using the mouse, joystick or arrow keys select an option by
highlighting the gadget and pressing the button or Return Key.

Often the Escape key can be used to exit from one options page back to a
previous one

Certain gadgets allow the user (you) to enter some text. After clicking on
such a gadget a cursor appears. From the keyboard type in the text and hit
return. With a joystick use up and down to change the character under the
cursor and fire when finished.

HD Installation

Those with a hard disk system will want to install SS2 onto their hard
disks. From WB simply drag the SS2 drawer on the program disk onto your
hard disk, this will then copy all the files required to run SS2 from your
hard disk. Then click on the HD Car install utility. This will unpack the
cars from the data disks onto your hard disk. Unfortunately we are unable
to offer the opportunity to do the same with the track disks at this time,
we are sadly not in the position to risk sales because of the nature of
piracy still rampant in the Amiga community. However we promise to include
a TrackDisk install utility in the first issue of the "Skidmarks Racer"
magazine (see later in this manual for details).

Racing with Super Skidmarks 2

Instaed of a large section on what buttons to press and where, along with
a detailed description of when and where to slow down and speed up, the
following is a quick list of helpful hints and tips to get you in the
spirit of things...

*stay cool, a frustrated driver is a bad driver
* taking your finger off the button is uncool (see above).
*use the horn to vent frustration 9pull down on the joystick).
*drunk driving is for idiots, crash for the night or call a cab.
*bouncing off other cars is an essential skill, practice it.
*telling people to buy SS2 will make you friends for life.
*subscribing to Skidmarks Racer is a totally wise thing.
*writing Skidmarks poetry is good for the soul.
*banging on big drums dancing naked is good for you too (what are they
on??)
*approaching corners at a wide angle is sensible.
*pulling 360 degree turns in mid air is not.
*racing the F1 series is for nutters.
*winning the F1 series is insane.
*building a 4 Joystick Adapter is a rewarding project.
*racing backwards with caravans attached can be tricky.
*replacing audio samples in the sfx drawer with your own is possible.
*sending email to acid@iconz.co.nz may get results.
*adding memory to your Amiga allows greater variety of cars in races.
*driving two cars at once is an interesting possibility.
*high speed mid air collisions are to be encouraged.

Creating Your Own Skidmarks Cars in Imagine

Included on the SS2 program disk is a drawer containing the files you need
to add your own cars to Skidmarks. You of course need access to Imagine2.

Rendering in Imagine

Some familiarity with Imagine is required for those wanting to add their
own cars to Skid2. A sample object has been included.

1. Copy the Kart drawer from the program disk onto your hard disk.
2. Run Imagine 2.
3. Open the Skidmarks project which can be found in the Kart drawer.
4. Open the Kart subproject.
5. Select all frames and then select Render.

Note:

Select Preferences in Imagine and check that the EDLE variable is set to
255 resulting in the best anti-aliasing Imagine has to offer.

The latest version of Imagine 3 we have is still unable to treat a genlock
background properly and hence produces poor results when rendering
Skidmarks cars (anti-aliases the car to the background colour..yuck!).

Rendering Your own Car.

To render your own car you must still use the Skidmarks project file
included on the disk. This contains among other things:
*correct angles for the 800 rotations
*best isometric lens setting
*bright green genlock background colour required by converter
*correct file format (ILBM 24 bit)
*correct light sources and angles

First up, from the detail editor load the Kart and your own car. Scale
your own car to that of the Kart. Then orient it`s global axis to that of
the karts:

*select your car
*press Shift R rotate global axis)
*point x-axis forward
*point z-axis straight up
*point y-axis toward left side of car
*press Shift M (move global axis)
*position axis in centre of car 3 units above ground level.
*save your car

You may also need to change your cars colours to suit Skidmarks. Use only
Reds, Blacks, Greys and whites.

To render your own car, go to the ActionEditor and select the red bar in
the "TYRES" field. Replace the kart.iob filename with that of your own
car. Save changes and render the first 32 frames of your car.

Then run the converter program supplied on the program disk. Click on
select-file and find the first frame of your car you just rendered.
skidmarks.imp/kart.pix/pic.001 or some such.

Then click on show-AGA to view the first 32 frames in Skidmarks format.
You may need to change the x and y offsets to centre your car in the
frame, more than likely you should alter the objects axis position and
size from within Imagine. The four variables on the right of the screen
adjust the dithering limits used by the converter. By changing these
variables and then clicking on a frame of the car below you can fine tune
how different shades are reproduced by the converter.

Problem solving...
*if your car isbeing clipped it is either too large or it`s axis is not
correctly centred, the x offset variable in the converter may also require
adjustment.

*if your car points the wrong direction when driven the orientation of the
axis needs adjusting.

*if your car looks like crap the chances are you need to change the colour
attributes in the detail editor. We only use red(255,0,0) black(0,0,0),
grey (160,160,160) and white(255,255,255) colour settings.

*Turn off phong shading for all attributes as it simply slows down
rendering, increase specularity for panels you want to reflect light (body
and windows but not tyres), don`t bother trying to use textures.

*Make sure for tyres that reflection and specularity are off, nothing
looks worse than shiny tyres.

*if your cars looks too good (better than any in the Acid garage) then
please send us a file, we might even offer you some money or even a job.

*if you are having problems adding textures to faces then don`t bother,
the best method of adding small detail to cars is to attach objects in the
form of 3D text or structured drawings.

Subscribe to Skidmarks Racer Magazine

Publishing our own magazine will enable us to release new tracks and beta
versions of upgrades, run competitions and most of all to keep in touch
with all you Skidmarks racers. Send the enclosed registration card today!

All being well the First issue of Skidmarks Racer will be mailed first
week of April and we plan to include the following:

Colouring Competition

Two new tracks will be included in issue one of Skidmarks racer. Your job
will be to add the trackside detail using your favourite Amiga paint
program. Car modelling competition

After the success of the "Imagine Build my Hot Rod Competition" in Amiga
Format last year we want to do it all over again. This time we will
however be expecting the entries to be "race ready" using the Imagine-
Skidmarks converter included on Skid2`s cover disk.

Full HD Installation Utility

Subscribers to Skidmarks Racer will at some time also receive a utility to
install the 4 Skidmarks track disks on their hard disk.

GrandPrix License

All those who fill in the GrandPrix registration section will be listed in
the magazine. We`ll encourage everyone to contact others in their area to
organise race meetings at a local venue and/or run tournaments using a BBS
to schedule playoffs.

If you can get enough people interested why not set up a venue, charge an
entry fee and give away some prizes. Don`t forget to take some photos so
we can feature the event in the Skidmarks Racer magazine.

Articles Wanted

If you have a story to tell be it about driving your own car or a party
you had where everyone ended up playing Skidmarks till the sun came up we
want to hear about it. Any hints and tips regarding driving, setting up
your modem etc. would also be greatly appreciated.

Meere voller Dummheit - was is los mit dieser Zeit?

Was is los mit uns? ich kann uns nich verstehen!
doch reich mir deine hand, lass uns trauemen gehen.

Lass uns wieder atmen, lass uns wieder sehen.
