The National Park Service
Information Center for the Environment at UC Davis contains species lists of flora
and fauna of National Park sites, including the
Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
The Golden Gate National Recreation Area is in need of volunteers to assist in building web
pages for the numerous sites throughout the park. If you are interested in helping, or would

Fort Point and Fort Alctraz (both now part of GGNRA) were both built in the 1850's to defend San
Franciso Bay. Fort Point's Homepage is part of the National Civil War Association website.

The International Indian Treaty
Council is an organization of Indigenous Peoples from North, Central, South
America and the Pacific working for the Sovereignty of Indigenous Peoples
and the protection of their human rights, cultures, and sacred lands. They hold Sunrise
Ceremony on Alcatraz on August 6, Thanksgiving, and Columbus Day every year. This event is
open to the public.
The Center for World
Indigenous Studies is an independent, non-profit research and education
organization dedicated to wider understanding and appreciation of the ideas and
knowledge of indigenous peoples.
The National Museum of the American Indian,
part of the Smithsonian Institute, is in New York.
