NOTE: No feature films are known to have been made on Alcatraz before the National Park Service began operations in 1972, with the exception of Point Blank (1967) while the General Services Administration managed Alcatraz as surplus federal property. There is an "Alcatraz set" in Culver City California that has appeared in at least on film, Force of Darkness, made in 1987 to promote the Alcatraz set. All films which actually filmed on Alcatraz are marked with a *.
