Snow leopards are very rare, found only in the Himalayas, Hindu Kush and Altai Mountains, Mongolia.

From the side, the snow leopard's skull has a distinctly raised area above the eye sockets, unlike the smooth curve of the beast's skull. This is caused by the upper part of the eye sockets being raised higher than those in the beast's skull, which appears as a deeper 'V' in front view.
