The Rowland Ward Pavilion, at the end of the Origin of species gallery, opened in 1960. It commemorates James Rowland Ward, a distinguished taxidermist, who left many specimens to the Museum on his death. Three African scenes are depicted - a waterhole in northern Kenya, a grassland in Angola and a central African forest where you can see two rare and secretive animals, an okapi and a bongo.
