
The Discovery Centre is an interactive gallery specifically designed for children in years 3-6. Experienced explainers encourage children of all abilities to investigate hands-on activities and explore natural objects. Children with special needs are welcome.

Our activity sheets are written to complement the National Curriculum and to support learning in the Museum's exhibitions. There is a range of activity sheets suitable for pupils aged 3 to 18. Content and presentation vary according to the age range.

Teachers with pupils in years 2-6 can book an interactive guided tour. Our teaching auxiliaries encourage children to make close observations of the variety of objects on display. Choose from an introductory tour about the Museum or a themed tour on mammals, fossils or rocks. A tour of our Wildlife Garden will be available from March 1996.

To book visits for UK schools and colleges, telephone our Bookings Office on 0171 938 9090, Monday to Friday 09.00-16.30 during term. Free admission for school groups is available on weekdays during our local term time. You should book as early as possible, as free admission places are limited.
