Race Two - 24 laps

Bernd Schneider led away from the start with Magnussen, Reuter, Ludwig,
van Ommen and Dalmas on his tail. The new ITC champion soon pulled clear
and was never challenged as he won his sixth ITC race of the year.
Magnussen led the pursuing pack until lap 13 when Reuter forced his way
past at the final corner.

As Magnussen regained the track he made contact with Ludwig and both
cars suffered punctures. The Opel retired but Magnussen made it to the
pits for a tyre change and finished 11th. Reuter was left to fly the
Opel flag, fighting off van Ommen as the race progressed. Dalmas brought
his Calibra home in fourth place, just ahead of JJ Lehto while Stefano
Modena was the top Alfa Romeo driver in sixth.

Bernd Schneider 1st: "With the title secure I could just concentrate all
my energy on winning this race as well. I really wanted to race for the
victory."

Manuel Reuter 2nd: "I had some more injections before the second race
but, when Jorg closed in, I suddenly felt a huge pain in my back and
thought that I wouldn't be able to withstand him. But then I went deep
into myself to get the strength. When I passed Magnussen it was a tough
pass, but we're in a tough sport, aren't we?"

Jorg van Ommen 3rd: "I was pleased with my car in both races and had a
really good attempt at passing Manuel. It was a good battle, and we came
very close at times, but it was important for both of us to make the
finish."

Yannick Dalmas 4th: "I'd liked to have made it onto the podium, both for
Opel and for myself because this is my home race."

JJ Lehto 5th: "I got some dirt in my eye at the start of race one and I
could only see through one eye at times in both races. I had a slight
tyre problem at the start of race two but enjoyed a good battle with
Keke and Stefano Modena. I think I'm the second or third best Opel
driver in the ITC."

Stefano Modena 6th: "I lost fuel pressure at the start and was passed
by a lot of people. It took me two laps to regain my original position.
Later, a front shock absorber broke and the fuel pressure problem came
back from time to time, so it was a difficult race for me."

Alessandro Nannini 9th: "My mechanics did a great job to repair the
gearbox between the two races and I just drove as hard as I could."

Philippe Gache 10th: "My aim was to finish in the top 10 so I'm happy
with that. I couldn't have done any better today. It was great to race a
Class One car and hope I can have another chance."

Klaus Ludwig (Opel): "The puncture I had was the result of one of those
racing incidents. Jan didn't mean to hit me, it just happened after
Manuel passed him."
