Victory for Pursuer - Title Decision Postponed to Last Round

Spa-Francorchamps, 27 August.  Juergen von Gartzen (Falke Oberbayern
Motorsport) from Germany claimed his second victory of the Porsche
SuperCup season with a green light to chequered flag win. Currently
holding second in drivers' standings von Gartzen made a strong gateway
on the wet race track in the Ardennes.He powered across the finish line
ahead of his compatriot Marco Werner (Udo Schneider Motorsport) to win
by a margin of 1.9 seconds after the 10-lap-sprint over 70 kilometres.
Said an overjoyed von Gartzen, "My mechanics prepared the car
beautifully for me, it was more than perfect. I controlled the race at
every moment. I love this track."

Behind the leading pair local hero Bertrand Gachot in his Pirelli/
Shell/RTL-Carrera, and Emmaneuel Collard (F, JMB Competition) enjoyed
a battle over the whole race distance for third place. After several
sideways moments and close encounters for both drivers, Collard won the
duel and crossed the finish line third.

Current points leader Jean-Pierre Malcher (F, JMB Competition) had to be
content with finishing in seventh position. Malcher was philosophical,
"Safety first. I wanted to collect points without taking unnecessary
risks. But I must admit our rain setup was not perfect, in quick corners
I had a strong oversteer."

After the outcome of this penutltimate round of the Porsche SuperCup the
fight for the title between Jean-Pierre Malcher, Juergen von Gartzen and
Emmanuel Collard will be decided at the last race at the European Grand
Prix, Nurburgring on October 1st.

Patrick Huisman (NL, Dutch Racing Promotions) once again demonstrated
his excellent driving skills, claiming fifth place ahead of the current
leader of the national German Carrera Cup, old-hand Harald Grohs
(D, Kadach Tuning). Former World Rally Champion Miki Biasion from Italy
in the Pirelli/Shell/RTL-Carrera with starting number two slipped into a
gravel trap in lap three already. The Italian joked after the race,
"Coming out of Eau Rouge Bend I touched the white stripes on the road
surface and immediately lost grip on the right hand side. Then I found
myself ploughing through the gravel - a place I'm very familiar with."
