German Victory and New Series Leader after Dramatic Race

Hockenheim, 30 July.  German Juergen von Gartzen (Falke Oberbayern
Motoraport) is the winner of the German round of this year's Porsche
SuperCup. Von Gartzen triumphed after the 12-lap-sprint over the 6.8 kms
of the high speed track at Hockenheim after duelling with Frenchman
Jean-Pierre Malcher (JMB Competition) throughout most of the race.
Von Gartzen snatched the lead in lap two. At the same moment, pole setter
Emmanuel Collard (F, JMB Competition) forced Pirelli/Shell/RTL-VIP driver
Roland Asch and Oliver Mathei (D, Kadach Tuning) into spins which
pirouetted them off the track. Collard and Mathei were sidelined, Roland
Asch continued.

Said the enthused von Gartzen after the finish: "I could not afford the
slightest mistake. Jean-Pierre was always shadowing me, and he is
unbelievably late on the breaks."

VIP-Driver Roland Asch, a former Carrera Cup Champion, commented on his
race: "After the big spin with Emmanuel I waited for the leaders to
come around. As a former Champion I wanted to show what I'm capable of."        Roland did just that. He set the fastest lap time (2:24.497min=169.988kph)
and easily matched the speed of the leaders.

Jean-Pierre Malcher is the new points leader after the dramatic race in
the "hot house atmosphere" of Hockenheim.

German Harald Grohs (Oberbayern Motorsport), an old hand in everything
to do with 911, impressed the spectators in the packed grand stands of
Hockenheim by fighting his way through from 13th starting position to
a podium place. Harald came in third ahead of Frank Schmickler (D, tolimit
Motorsport), who had battled his way up from an eighth position in the
starting grid.

Popstar Haddaway in his Pirelli/Shell/RTL backed VIP Carrera ran
comfortably to the flag in a race which he described as "one of the
most thrilling and exhausting experiences of my life."
Haddaway enthausiastically said: "I have one big wish for next year:
to be at the wheel of a racing Porsche once again."
