ENDURANCE STAR ANDY WALLACE
JOINS DYSON FOR GLEN CONTINENTAL

 WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Andy Wallace, coming off an overall 3rd place in last
weekend's 24 Hours of LeMans, is making his first visit to Watkins Glen
International this weekend. The British driver joined Rob Dyson's potent lineup
for Saturday's Glen Continental.
 Wallace joins Butch Leitzinger, James Weaver and Dyson in a pair of Riley and
Scott Ford Mark IIIs, which will challenge the Ferraris in the three hour
event, which takes the green flag at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The race also includes
the IMSA Exxon GTS-1 and GTS-2 classes. The new IMSA Ferrari Challenge makes
its first visit to the Glen at noon on Saturday. Sunday's schedule features the
Lysol 200 NASCAR Busch Grand National event, plus the IMSA Street Stock, SCCA
Barber Dodge and USAC U.S. Formula Ford 2000 Championship.
 "At LeMans, I drove 13 hours, and I was absolutely stuffed when I woke up the
next morning," said Wallace, who joined the father-son team of Derek and Justin
Bell in the third place McLaren. "I had to get on the ferry to get back to
England, and flew straight here. I feel absolutely fine -- almost." Teammates
Yannick Dalmas, J.J. Lehto and Massanori Sekiya were the overall winners.
 Wallace arrived at the Glen Wednesday, and a walk around the scenic 3.4-mile
circuit with drivers Butch Leitzinger, Dan Clark and Craig T. Nelson was his
first lap ever on the famed track.
 "I never driven here before, and I don't understand why," Wallace said. "I
feel like I should have driven here before, because it's such a famous track.
But I've always missed out, and now is my chance.
 "We get two hours of running in practice at the most," added Wallace, who is
also driving Dyson's new Ford powered Exxon World Sports Car for the first
time. "But I've done this kind of thing before, and I should be alright. This
car was very fast in testing here, and it would be nice to get a nice result."
 Dyson's two Fords will be challenging a pair of Ferraris. Defending winner
Gianpiero Moretti joins 1994 Exxon World Sports Car champ Wayne Taylor in the
Momo Ferrari 333SP, while '94 LeMans winner Mauro Baldi teams with Fermin Velex
in the Scandia Ferrari 333SP.
 Also making his first visit to the Glen on Wednesday were Craig T. Nelson and
Dan Clark, who co-drive the Screaming Eagles Lexus Spice.
 "It's going to be an interesting race," said owner/driver Nelson, the star of
the television series "Coach." "It's a legendary track, so you come here with a
lot of expectations. It looks real nice. The amount of G-forces we'll be doing
seems to be real interesting in these cars. And you don't really experience the
uphills and elevation changes by watching the videos. 
 Nelson and Clark are coming off their best finish of the season, placing ninth
at Lime Rock, Conn on Memorial Day.
 "You always come to a race with high expectations and just see what happens,"
added Nelson. "Part of the frustration and the joy of doing this is just
rolling the dice and see what happens. You do the preparations and hope it's
going to last, but you never know.
 Nelson will be holding an autograph session at the Pyramid in the WGI infield
on Friday from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m., with proceeds benefiting children's
charities.
