BOBBY LABONTE ON STANDBY FOR LYSOL 200

Bobby Labonte will be wearing a different hat at Watkins Glen International
for  Sunday's Lysol 200. Instead of coming to race in the NASCAR Busch Grand
National event, he will attend as car owner for David Green's Slim Jim
Chevrolet. However, the popular Corpus Christi, Texas driver may wind up
driving after all.

Green, the defending Busch Grand National champion, suffered a broken shoulder
blade at Charlotte. He's recovering ahead of schedule, and is expected to drive
the distance at the Glen. Should he need relief, Labonte will step in.

"I expect David will be ready to go the distance at the Glen," Labonte said.
"I'm just going to go up to the Glen to watch David drive."

Both drivers competed in the Fay's 150 Busch Grand National race at the Glen
last year, with Green finishing fourth. Labonte retired with engine problems
only seven laps from the finish.

"I might coach David a little bit, but not a whole lot," Labonte admitted.
"Last year I didn't coach him because we were both on the race track. David's
not done a lot of road racing, but he finished fourth last year. He's adapted
very well, and I think this year we'll go back and hopefully will be as good."

If Labonte relief drives for Green, he will be returning a favor from earlier
this year. Labonte broke his shoulder in the Winston Cup race at Darlington,
and Green qualified the Interstate Batteries Chevrolet fifth for the Cup race
at Bristol and then relief drove in the race.

Labonte joined the winning ranks in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series when he
drove Joe Gibbs' Interstate Battery Chevrolet to victory in the Coca-Cola 600
at Charlotte. It took only two more races for Labonte to score victory number
two, as he held off Jeff Gordon in Sunday's race at Michigan International
Raceway. Counting brother Terry's victory at Pocono two weeks ago, the Labontes
have won three of the last four races in Winston Cup competition.

NEW SCOREBOARD IN McDONALD'S LOOP

Fans attending this weekend's races in the McDonald's Loop will be able to
keep track of the action with a new scoreboard, located near the Inner Loop
grandstands. 

The Inner Loop grandstand (and all other WGI grandstands) are free to general
admission ticket holders during the June 23-25 NASCAR/IMSA weekend. The weekend
is a great opportunity to bring the family. Children 12 and under will be
admitted to the circuit free (with a paying adult), and can sit in the
grandstands for free.

All grandstands will be reserved for the August 10-13 Bud at the Glen weekend.

PURVIS, BENSON TAKE WEEKEND VICTORIES

Jeff Purvis and Johnny Benson prepped for Sunday's Lysol 200 by winning
weekend races. Purvis won Saturday's ARCA race at Michigan, while former
American Speed Association champion Benson took the ASA Port City Racing 200 at
Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich..

Purvis will pilot the #4 Kodak Fun Saver Cameras Chevrolet in the Lysol 200.
Benson, the current BGN points leader, is a two-race winner in the Lipton
Chevrolet. 

Also seeing action over the weekend was Hans Stuck, who placed sixth in the 24
Hours of LeMans. Stuck will drive the Champion/H.H. Brown/STP Porsche 911 in
the GTS-1 category of Saturday's three hour Glen Continental.
