AIS: Toledo Cancelled

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JUNE 19, 1995

    Fort Colleens, Colorado -- The Columbus, Oh - based promoter, Intersport Management, has failed to live up to its contractual agreement. As a result the July 2nd race of the American IndyCar Series has been canceled at Toledo Speedway. A.I.S. would have joined ARCA on the card for that weekend and is currently trying to reschedule the race in the fall.

    A.I.S. moves on to Colorado for a twin 100K race at the Ft. Colleens, CO Downtown Airport on the July 29 - 30 weekend. With only ten points separating first and second. Vancouver, B.C. rookie, Curtis Spicer, will challenge Series Champion and teammate, Bill Tempero for the point lead in the driver championship. Spicer, who is gaining experience driving Indy cars in A.I.S. in 1995, Hopes to join fellow Canadians, Scott Goodyear and Jacques Villleneuve, into CART or IRL Indy cars in 1996.
